Coral reefs are made of a animal called coral. Coral is kind of rocky. Coral reefs are very colorful. 25% of marine life live in coral reefs. Coral reefs are usually in a warm, and shallow water. Most of them are in the Pacific Ocean. The Great Barrier Reef in North-Eastern Australia, is the largest coral reef in the world. In the United States it ends close to Miami, Florida. Clown fish live in anemones. Anemones are in the same family as coral reefs. Clown fish have a special slime that lets them swim in to the anemone without being stung by its poisonous tentacles. The clown fish gives the anemone food that was left on its body.This shows an example of a help help symbiosis.Hammerhead sharks are one kind of fish that lives around a coral reef. It waits to eat the smaller fish that will come out of the coral reef.
